The Collection Toolkit, an application by Zolo Digital, assists Shopify merchants with organizing products into collections through rules-based automation and managing bulk catalog operations. The service enables activities including importing and exporting collections, managing prices and inventory, scheduling price modifications, and reviewing price change histories. This document describes what data the application accesses, retains, and modifies, plus its usage methods.
Information the App accesses
With merchant authorization via Shopify permission scopes, the application retrieves and modifies store information through the Shopify Admin API:
- Products, variants, and pricing information
- Product characteristics like titles, handles, vendors, types, statuses, SKUs, and barcodes
- Collections and collection assignments
- Inventory amounts and location data
- Product update events via webhook for price tracking
The application does not access, gather, or retain customer personal information including names, emails, addresses, or purchase records.
Information the App stores
- Store domain and Shopify access credentials
- Merchant-created collection rules
- Uploaded CSV files for data operations
- Scheduled price modifications with original and new price data
- Activity logs documenting operations with timestamps and item counts
- App preferences, such as whether you dismissed the setup guide and the status of the review prompt
Information the App writes to your store
When requested, the application modifies store data through the Shopify API:
- Collections and assignments
- Product pricing and comparison pricing
- Inventory quantities
- A product metafield containing price-change documentation
How the information is used
Store data supports app functionality exclusively: collection management, rule execution, catalog operations, price scheduling, and historical price display. Data is never sold, rented, or leveraged for marketing purposes.
Sharing and processing
Third-party sharing is limited to infrastructure providers (Railway database services) necessary for operation. Store data transfers between the app and Shopify during requested transactions only.
Data retention and deletion
Uninstalling the app revokes its access and removes its session credentials right away.
About 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify sends a data erasure request. The app then permanently deletes your collection rules, their run history, your import and export logs, and any remaining sessions.
Uploaded import files, scheduled price changes (including the original prices captured to revert them) and app preferences are not yet removed automatically. Email support@zolodigital.com and we'll delete them.
Price history is stored on your own products, in a metafield reserved for the app, and holds only past prices and dates. The app doesn't remove it when you uninstall.
Customer data requests receive responses reflecting no stored customer information.
Security
All transmissions use encrypted HTTPS protocols, and credentials are stored securely.
Changes to this policy
Updates may occur periodically, with the revision date reflecting recent modifications.
