A/B Testing
Test changes on real traffic before rolling them out.
A redesign based on opinion can quietly cost sales. Testing changes against the current store shows what actually helps before it goes to every shopper.
Who it's for
- Stores with enough traffic to test against.
- Teams that disagree on what to change next.
What's included
- Test ideas ranked by likely impact and effort.
- Variants built in the theme, matching the live design.
- Experiment setup in your testing tool.
- An honest read of the results — including when the answer is “no difference”.
- Rolling the winners out to the whole store.

Questions
What is A/B testing on a Shopify store?
Showing two versions of a page or element to different visitors at the same time and measuring which one leads to more sales. It replaces opinion with evidence before a change is rolled out to every shopper.
How much traffic do I need to A/B test?
Enough orders for a test to reach a clear result within a few weeks. If a store doesn't have that yet, testing isn't the right next step; fixing the obvious problems first will do more, and I'll say so on the call.
Which testing tool do you use?
Whichever you already have, or a straightforward one set up for the test. The variants themselves are built in your theme so they match the live design exactly, and the tool only decides who sees which version.
What if the test shows no difference?
That's a useful result. It means the change wasn't worth rolling out, and you've avoided redesigning something that wouldn't have helped. Winning variants are rolled out to the whole store; losing ones are removed.
