The brief
Makeup City Pakistan sells original makeup online and through its own stores.
The work: move the storefront onto a Git-connected Horizon theme and add the features that help shoppers find a shade, find a store and track an order.
What I did
- Rebuilt the storefront on Shopify's Horizon theme, connected to GitHub and shipped continuously since May 2026.
- Built an AR virtual try-on for lipstick shades.
- Rebuilt the store locator and added order tracking connected to the retail back office.
- Reworked product pages and colour swatches, and added restock “notify me” alerts.
- Built cart promotions: spend milestones and automatic gift-with-purchase.
- Redesigned the mobile menu, integrated Yango Pay pay-later, and built campaign pages such as “Perfect Match”.
- Deferred the Meta Pixel and other third-party scripts to improve responsiveness (Interaction to Next Paint).

Outcome
The new theme is live on makeupcityshop.com and still being built on.
Performance work so far has targeted Interaction to Next Paint by moving third-party scripts off the critical path.
